Susan, Siong & Rita is the product of a merger between Lai, Yoong & Rita (LYR) and Siong & Rita (SR). Rita was a founding partner in LYR between 1996 and 2005. In April 2005, she teamed up with Siong to set up SR. Despite this move to set up SR, Rita ensured that LYR and SR would collaborate on certain cases, working together to serve the best interests of their clients. It is therefore no surprise that despite Rita’s subsequent retirement from legal practice, both firms continued to enjoy a good working relationship. In March of 2025, Susan and Siong decided to form a partnership and in honour of Rita, named their new firm Susan, Siong & Rita.
With this merger, we bring together a strengthened team of experienced legal professionals and an expanded portfolio of services. While we continue to lead in civil litigation — particularly in matrimonial and construction disputes — our capabilities now extend further into corporate advisory, commercial transactions, and property law.
We remain committed to delivering exceptional legal work with an emphasis on practical, commercially-viable solutions that meet the evolving needs of our clients.
